Angels and The Holy Spirit – What do they do? What are their Functions in our life?
The angels work according to our attitudes and actions, they don’t do anything unless we do our part. They are always ready to work on our favor, for example, when Daniel was fighting against the devil and he saw that was hard for him to prevail then he prayed and fasted for 21 days and God sent His archangel Michael, ‘But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.’ Daniel 10.13
The angels work by protecting us against evil force, they also destroy work of envy, evil eye, etc. they open doors, give guidance, directions and many times do what we are not able to do. They are ready to stand by our side against our enemies. ‘Behold, I sent an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared; Beware of Him and obey his voice; to not provoke him, for he will not pardon your transgressions; for my name is in Him.’ Exodus 23.20,21
The work of the Holy Spirit in our life is different of what the angels do. The Holy Spirit is God, He is Almighty, He gives inspirations, different ideas, He reveals what we should do and what we should not do, the Holy Spirit is the One who convinces sinners from their sins, as it’s written, ‘And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.’ John 16.8
The Holy Spirit is the only One who can reveal the Lord Jesus to human being, He has the power of conversion, He transforms our interior and enables us to become like new creatures to live in holiness. Only the Holy Spirit can bear good fruits in our life, with Him we have peace, love, joy, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
‘The Holy Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.’ Romans 8.16
The Holy Spirit is the One who gives us intelligent faith, He enables us to see like God does, to understand the vision of God and to hear His voice. Only the Holy Spirit can teach us how to fear God and walk in His ways.
